Our Father's Day was much more relaxed than our Mother's Day. We started the day enjoying a big Father's Day breakfast. Abigail loved her hashbrown. Then Jonathan opened his Father's Day presents.
We headed over to my parents to spend time with Nonna and Papa. It was a nice laid back afternoon. We spent most of our time being entertained by Abigail.
We hope our Dads had a great Father's Day! Now I will leave you with a few oldies of Jonathan and Abigail. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband who has also been a wonderful dad!

Auntie Laura's Birthday
Yesterday was my sister Laura's birthday. To celebrate we decided to spend some time on the beach. It worked out well as yesterday was the first sunny and dry day we've had in a while.
We started off our day preparing for Auntie Laura's big day. I thought I'd try Abigail out with colored pencils and an index card. She resisted the temptation to chew on the pencils and actually did some doodling on the paper. She really enjoyed coloring and protested quite loudly when I tried to move her on to something else.
Abigail didn't get her morning nap in, although she had over 60 minutes worth of opportunities to fall asleep! I ultimately gave in and we headed over to my parent's house. We met up with Laura and her husband Nick and headed to the beach. Abigail headed straight for the water. Even though the temperatures are significantly and noticeably colder than in Charleston, SC, Abigail kept wanting to go further and further in. After getting a little wet we tried out her new beach toys, flew her Sesame Street kite, played with a football, and walked around a bit. It took only a few minutes for her to fall asleep on the way back to my parent's.
We finished the day with strawberry short cake and gifts. Abigail wasn't a fan of the cake, but had her fill of strawberries.Happy Birthday Auntie Laura!

Sunday in the Park
This past Sunday we took Abigail to a local park. Because Daddy joined in on the fun Abigail was able to do much more than sit in a swing (it is easier to let a 14-month old roam around with two onlookers instead of one ;-)
The park has different "jungle gyms" that are suitable for different ages. Abigail spent most of her time in Toddlertown.
After the jungle gym Abigail walked around a bit and then decided to play with the mulch that lined the whole park! We had to convince her to go on the swing to distract her from the messy-ness.
